4 ChildPlus Resources to Support Effective Head Start Attendance Plans

Attendance is the heartbeat of effective education in early childhood development, which is why every day counts towards a kiddo’s success. Gone are the days of trudging through an attendance slump. ChildPlus understands the hassle of evaluating attendance data and the struggle of implementing effective attendance plans. That’s why we’re proud to offer multiple options for evaluating attendance. Let’s look at our four most popular solutions.

The importance of good data cannot be overstated. It can be a huge waste of everyone’s time to develop a detailed plan using incorrect information. Use Report 2303 or the Attendance chart within the Performance Panel to identify locations are lagging behind with their data entry. Once the data is clean, you can move forward with confidence.

Now that you have accurate and complete data, you can look for trending absent reasons. Report 2309 can be used to identify trends based on reasons for absences. It helps you to develop a solution that targets the most documented absent reasons. This information can also be found on the Performance Panel, where you can share the data with stakeholders.

Patterns and trends may be found in other areas. Use Report 2305 to spot patterns by the day or month. This report helps you monitor multiple components of Performance Standard 1302.16 and includes:

        • ADA percentages for the classroom
        • ADA percentages for each participant
        • Present percentages for each day of the week

Many of us can be found guilty of not understanding the severity of something until we see it visually, whether it is written or drawn out. The charts in Services > Attendance can be used to compliment good attendance habits, create support when improvement is needed and provide convincing visual support for parents.

Each feature is designed to help you develop a deeper understanding of your agency’s attendance story. It can be used to strengthen attendance plans for both the families you serve and your program. We offer many Attendance features and services that can support you with data entry and monitoring.

Our ERSEA Online Program (launches August 2024) includes an attendance course that covers everything you need to know – from setup to monitoring.

In addition to the ERSEA Online Program, we have a Live Group Webinar called “An Examination of Attendance Enhancements.” This webinar (streaming, Friday, May 17, 2024 at 1 p.m. ET) will demonstrate the latest features and improvements to the newly-designed Attendance module in ChildPlus Online.
