Using Custom Filters to Solve Unique Problems 

When OCEAN Inc.’s service delivery locations recently changed, the program needed to merge the ChildPlus databases of two different service areas. This presented a challenge because one of the service areas has a different cutoff age than the others. As a result, Belkis and Meg realized they needed to adjust the program’s Rollover process to accurately provide services to children who reside in both service areas. 

In ChildPlus, they built custom filters based on the participant’s age to indicate different townships and each of their unique cut-off dates. Now with the custom filters applied, OCEAN Inc.’s report 2030 – PNPT Rollover for Enrollment combines the data in a way that ensures no participants are left behind.

Meg reveals that, “[our consultant] has been wonderful because she has lived through [our program’s changes]. She’s a wealth of knowledge and a great resource that we can tap into if we can’t solve it on our own.” Meg also credits their success to the additional ChildPlus learning resources that support self-learning. She says, “We have some quirky things. But if you are willing to read, you can find the answers within the program. It exists! It’s very comprehensive. The help center and the support materials are clear about what you need to do, which allows us to print it and show the staff, and say, OK, this is what you need to do.”
