Efficiency Boost: ChildPlus Online’s Enhanced Family Pre-Application

Virtual meetings, no contact transactions and a few other modernized tasks saw a rise in popularity during the pandemic and are now a part of our everyday lives. ChildPlus was and continues to be right there with you. Continue reading to see how progress supports your ERSEA process post pandemic.

The ability to take applications through a shared link isn’t new to ChildPlus. Many programs have been collecting data from their families this way for a few years. However, the ability to easily resume and verify the application after submission is relatively new. In ChildPlus Online, applications can be started, stopped and continued at any time. There are five sections within the Application module that guide you through each type of family member, the family’s information and participant data.

Request Documents

We didn’t stop with the application. Collecting required documents is now available in both ChildPlus Desktop and ChildPlus Online. Programs can either request documents automatically as a part of the Family Pre-Application process or by using a secure link generated by the software. Programs can even set it so that uploaded documents go directly to their correct module once submitted. There is also a new option to receive an email when documents have been added.

Email Attachments

When reviewing the health records for a batch of accepted applicants, you may notice that many of them need an up-to-date physical. Use LiveMessage to send an email that reminds parents to schedule an appointment with the pediatrician. If you’re worried about receiving a copy of the physical on the correct form, attach the form to the email. Parents can either print the form or show it to the pediatrician. Use this feature to share brochures from a community partner, individual reports and other helpful resources.

Attendance Scanning in ChildPlus Online

Once enrolled, it’s time to being taking attendance. With Attendance Scanning in ChildPlus Online programs can take attendance on the road, literally! Generate barcodes with Report 2340 – Attendance Scanning Barcodes. Then use a 2 in 1 laptop, a tablet or a cell phone to complete any of the options below:

• allow parents to scan their child in and out each day using a tablet or other approved device located near entrance points
• allow greeters to scan participants in each day as families arrive to the site
• use phones to meet families in the drop off and pick up line to scan participants in and out
• use a cellular phone or data enabled tablet to capture arrival and departure times when participants are getting on and off the school bus
