DRDP in ChildPlus: ELOF-aligned and works with any curricula

Have you thought about your agency’s transition to the DRDP© in ChildPlus?

With the endless benefits of this powerful assessment, ChildPlus makes your transition seamless!

When you purchase the DRDP in ChildPlus, you have a single data system for tracking children and family information, detailed reports, access to historical data at no additional cost, and so much more.

With the DRDP© in ChildPlus, you will also have access to ELOF-aligned data that you can use to create daily individualized learning activities! The DRDP© correspondence to the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (ELOF) for Infant/Toddlers is used in Early Head Start programs, and the DRDP© correspondence to the Head Start ELOF for Preschool is used in many Head Start programs across the country.  Both variations of the DRDP are Head Start ELOF-aligned and developmentally appropriate for all children, including those with disabilities and dual language learners. If your curriculum is also ELOF-aligned, this means that you can continue using your current curriculum, so there is no need to learn a new curriculum as you implement the DRDP©! You can easily implement the DRDP as teachers continue to teach the material they are already using and are familiar teaching.

What does “ELOF-aligned” mean?

ELOF-aligned curricula are comprehensive and address all areas of children’s learning and development described in the ELOF. When you design an ELOF-aligned program, you can focus on effective teaching practices to ensure a positive learning experience for all of your children.

The DRDP© gives you flexibility for each individual teacher since the curriculum does not have to be organized in the same way as the ELOF, and can contain additional teaching materials in different areas, such as social studies or art. In summary, the idea of a curriculum being ELOF-aligned is to show growth on the continuum in all areas focused on ELOF, and may or may not include additional domain areas.

According to the Head Start Performance Standards, Head Start agencies are required to implement a curriculum and teaching strategy that are ELOF-aligned. With ChildPlus, we make it easy to ensure your program is ELOF-aligned. Utilize our Module Designer to track your school readiness goals, and use DRDP© data to create lesson plans and activities.

Analyzing Data to make Data-Driven Decisions

ChildPlus’ dynamic reports, like the Group Detail Report, can also help you create ELOF-aligned lesson plans. As you finalize your ratings in the DRDP©, this customizable report will give you individualized groups based on each child’s ratings.  You can then use the groups at the end of each assessment cycle as a starting place for selecting individualization and group instruction activities.

Are you a Home Visitor?  Report 5040 allows you to pull similar lessons for children at home based on the groupings.

“The Language of the DRDP© aligns with the Office of Head Start ELOF as well as my State Standards better than my previous assessment. The language is family-friendly and for children under 1. The assessment is more accurate and captures the child’s developmental levels better.”
