The ChildPlus Team Gives Back to Help Those in Need

Earlier this month, team members of ChildPlus, a Procare Solutions company, assembled and delivered hygiene kits, and helped sort clothes for people who are in need.

The Atlanta Mission is the city’s largest and longest-running provider of services to homeless men, women and children. It was founded in 1938 as a small soup kitchen and 20-bed shelter, and now operates four facilities serving Metro Atlanta’s large homeless population.

It provides food, shelter, recovery, help finding jobs, counseling, spiritual recovery and educational services. People also can take showers and wash their clothes, and the organization has the capacity to serve over 800 men, women and children each day.

The Atlanta Mission works to provide a level of stability that creates space to build relationships.

“Once basic needs are met, our staff teams work to triage and assess any other immediate needs in order to point each individual to the best next step, either with Atlanta Mission or other providers,” the organization said.

Check out these statistics about the vulnerable people served by this group every day:

  • 81% have experienced physical or sexual abuse
  • 58% report symptoms of trauma
  • 57% have a chronic medical condition
  • 55% spend their free time alone
  • 46% are underemployed or unemployed
  • 30% report drug or alcohol abuse

Empowering communities is a core value at Procare Solutions. It was an honor to spend time with the Atlanta Mission helping where we could. If you’d like to support this organization’s work, consider donating through this link.
